hello and i enjoyed this podcast.
You should have a dedicated section for people who have never played diablo before...and do some podcasts for people who dont know anything about the game, narrated by greenheat. He seems like he has the patience for this job.

I don't think that people who buy gold / items are necessarily bad, they just value their time at a higher rate than the real market value of those items.
E.g., I pay a trash company to haul my garbage every week - I'm perfectly capable of putting my trash in my car and bringing it to the dump, but I don't feel that my time is worth less than $24 / mo.
I would venture a guess and say that people who buy gold are generally older than your average player - and I would be willing to posit that older players are generally more casual in nature - therefore it might be misconceived that buyers of gold are "worse" than the hard core player-base, but that would be an invalid correlation!

I agree. However, being able to get rid of all the time sinks that a game has to offer will eventually get rid of the game itself. Why play a game when all you have to do is drop 500 dollars on gear? Not to mention, paying for your garbage to be taken out to save time is one thing. Paying to get gear in order to better your character without playing the game is another. Diablo 3 is not a marathon raiding game. If it's anything like d2 you can do a boss run in 10 minutes.

Diablo 3 is not a marathon raiding game. If it's anything like d2 you can do a boss run in 10 minutes. How is -paying to get gear in order to better my character without playing the game any different than -paying to have my trash hauled without having to drive it to the dump? In both cases I'm avoiding spending time doing something I don't want to do. If all I want to do is experience the "end game" content (or a clean house) and I'm willing to pay money for that luxury, how am I wrong for taking advantage of the offer? If your argument is that in PvP it gives other players an unfair advantage, then I agree with you. But I still don't think that the practice is inherently wrong. Everywhere you look in life you will find that people spend their money to possess things that are of higher quality than others. People buy fast cars, but they're not necessarily race car drivers - but a race car driver in a Toyota shouldn't feel it's unfair when a lawyer in a Ferrari beats him in a race. If the better gear / gold selling was only available to one group of people or one locale, etc. then I would say that it's totally unfair, but this? Nah this is fair - pay up or suck it up!

Is the cast on iTunes yet? I searched "poke the buffalo" and all I got was a Pokemon podcast… After an hour of listening I can say with certainty that it was not D3 Combat.
